Statue of Dr. Jose Rizal
The statue of Dr. Jose Rizal at Concepcion South Elementary School was erected on December 30, 1919 to honor him as one of the most revered figures in Philippine history. Rizal was a multifaceted intellectual and political activist, best remembered for his writings that inspired the Philippine Revolution and ultimately led to his execution by Spanish colonizers.
The monument was built through the initiative of Pres. MPal S. Mallari, with the support of the monument committee composed of Gen. Servillano Aquino, Dr. Marciano Barrera, Sr. Santiago Mallari, Sr. Sergio Aquino, Dr. Florentino Mercado, Sr. Cecilio Aquino, and Sr. Raymundo Panlilio.
